For her whole life, Jessie wanted to create, in any and all forms. She took up drawing and painting first, as most kids do, moving onto sewing, photography, pastels and embroidery all before fifth grade. It was around this same time that she started to notice her view of the world was much different than those around her, sometimes her life was heightened and other times, it felt reduced by her own mind. The only thing she knew she enjoyed and did well, was using her two hands to morph nothing into something. This form of freedom she discovered so young is the same reason Messie exists today. 

There was a phase of time where Jessie started to feel as if the world didn't make sense any longer, it was in these deep periods that she actually turned away from creating as often and fell very deeply into writing. It was never that she didn't want to create, it was that the joy in the craft, the joy in life, dimished. She put pen to paper so often in these times, that those same pages she wrote at fourteen, seventeen, nineteen and twenty-two have become a documentation of her mind that Jessie is actively editing to one day share with all of you.

Eventually, Jessie not only realized how deeply she craved more, she had an epiphany of power. She held a degree in graphic design by this time and was freelancing work, as one can only stray from art for so long before always returning. Yet something still wasn't clicking for her, she ached to use her two hands to form something physical once more. As she found herself playing with epoxy resin almost daily, that business idea she toyed with in high school returned to her. Less than two months later, after many long nights of resin pouring and macrame knotting, she started that business.

One of the first steps Jessie took in taking back control, was believing in herself enough to launch Messie in fall of 2021.

Since Messie's creation, much has changed. What started as a spur of the moment e-commerce art shop has evolved into a business that constantly teaches Jessie more and provides sanctuary, she feels freedom once again. As Messie has evolved Jessie's life, she has shed this growth back onto Messie. Though she was once bewildered at the generous reactions her creations recieved, she now understands it; you all enjoy the growth as much as she does, you see yourselves in her makings just as she does, you all feel pain and happiness in ways you can't express also. Jessie's work combines the natural world with our own minds, allowing her to lay out her thoughts and emotions in a way that always leaves space for your's too...and she will never not be grateful that you all care to do so.
